This year I made an early decision to combine the Teen Model Crew and Senior Rep shoots and do the entire session in a studio! That helped eliminate any stress about our crazy spring Colorado weather. I looked at several different studio options in the Denver area before deciding on the Denver Photo Collective . It was the perfect choice! It is a natural light studio filled with fun props and various background options. I knew I would be able to get a variety of looks without wasting any time changing locations. With 10 different models, this was the most important factor after eliminating weather issues! The studio even has a dressing room equipped with water, refreshments and all of the last minute photo shoot emergency items you can think of.
These girls are so fun to work with! I love that they are willing to try anything, even if it’s one of my crazier ideas. The image with Julia’s reflection in the mirror took so many different attempted angles and a few different assistants hidden in the background to finally get it right! Nakaya was more than happy to lay on the concrete floor for this gorgeous shot of her below. And of course, there was trust on their part when I asked them to stand next to a not so pretty window while others held a curtain around them. We had 2.5 hours of shooting time in the studio and we used every last minute. I always say, it is really hard to stop “working” when it is so much fun!
The two groups are planning their next shoots now and I can’t wait to show you what we are coming up with! The Senior Reps will be doing their styled shoot in June and the Teen Crew will be in the fall. Each year, applications are accepted in February to be a part of either of these teams.
